About
Geran E. Minor is an attorney at Mandy Hancock Law, PLLC in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she represents clients in family law, adoption, and juvenile matters. Her practice focuses on divorce, post-divorce matters, child custody, child support, adoption, dependency and neglect proceedings, severe abuse cases, and orders of protection. Admitted to the Tennessee Bar in October 2024, Geran is committed to providing compassionate, client-centered representation while advocating for the best possible outcomes for the individuals and families she serves.
Geran earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisville in 2020 before obtaining her Juris Doctor from Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law in 2023. During law school, she served as President of the Student Bar Association, participated in the school’s Mock Trial Program, and developed a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy and leadership that continues to shape her practice today.
Geran’s passion for family and juvenile law is deeply personal. As a child, she experienced a hostile divorce, a custody battle, and dependency and neglect proceedings firsthand. Rather than allowing those experiences to define her, they inspired her to pursue a career advocating for children and families facing similar challenges. She understands the emotional weight these cases carry and strives to provide every client with the guidance, empathy, and strong legal advocacy she once needed herself.
Adoption is especially meaningful to Geran. During her first year of law school, she discovered that although she and her twin brother had taken their stepfather’s last name, they had never been legally adopted. She drafted the adoption pleadings herself as a Father’s Day gift, and just one month later stood in court to finalize her own adoption. That experience strengthened her commitment to helping families build lasting legal bonds and navigate some of life’s most significant milestones.
Outside of the office, Geran enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Jordan, friends, and her dog, Graham. She also enjoys playing pickleball and exploring Knoxville’s local restaurants.
